How do I send Materials to ServiceM8 Quotes Without Pricing?
Sending Materials to ServiceM8 Quotes Without Pricing |
Sometimes when preparing quotes in ServiceM8, you may want to list materials on the job for reference, but you don’t want them to display with pricing or impact the overall job total. This keeps your quotes clean for the customer while still allowing your team to see what materials are required. That’s exactly why Burdi includes the “Export Material to Quoted Job at $0 sell price” setting — it ensures materials export into ServiceM8 jobs at a $0 sell value, so they’re visible without affecting costs.
What This Setting Means
When enabled, it pushes materials from Burdi into ServiceM8 jobs that are categorised as Quoted, but those materials are exported with a $0 sell price.
This means the materials are recorded in ServiceM8 for staff visibility, but they don’t add to the job total or appear as priced items in the customer’s quote.
Where to Find This Setting
You can find this option within Burdi’s integration settings for ServiceM8.
-
Go to Settings in your Burdi account.
-
Navigate to the ServiceM8 Settings section.
-
Tick the box next to Export Material to Quoted Job at $0 sell price.
When You’d Use This Setting
This feature is useful in several scenarios:
-
Quoting Stage Transparency:
You may want to show that specific materials are needed for a job but don’t want to display their price until the quote is finalised. This keeps the quote neat while still allowing staff visibility of what’s required.
-
Internal Tracking:
Some businesses prefer to track materials on a job even when a quote hasn’t been approved yet. Exporting at $0 ensures those items are logged in ServiceM8 without affecting quoted totals.
-
Avoiding Double-Charging:
If you create quotes in Burdi but only want to push the labour component (and not material costs) through to ServiceM8 at the quoting stage, this setting ensures customers won’t see inflated or duplicated costs.
-
Flexibility in Quoting:
It allows you to later update the sell price once the job is approved, giving you greater flexibility in how you present costs to the customer versus how you manage materials internally.
The Export Material to Quoted Job at $0 sell price setting is designed to give businesses more control and clarity over how materials flow from Burdi into ServiceM8 quotes. It’s particularly handy if you want to track material usage without affecting customer-facing quote values until you’re ready.
