Why Did Burdi Send Materials to the Job with a $0 Sell Price?

If you’ve noticed materials being pushed from Burdi into ServiceM8 with a $0 sell price, the most likely reason is that the job category is set to “Quoted.”

This is not an error — it’s an intentional feature designed to give you better control over how job values are presented in ServiceM8.

Why This Happens

When a job is marked as Quoted in ServiceM8, Burdi automatically assigns exported materials a $0 sell price.
The logic behind this is simple:

  • A quoted job already has a total value that has been agreed upon with the customer.

  • Adding material sell prices on top of that could inflate the quoted value and create confusion.

  • By sending materials at $0, Burdi ensures they are still tracked in ServiceM8 for record-keeping, without affecting the quoted amount.

This makes it easier to manage your costs without unintentionally increasing the customer-facing price of the job.

How to Change This Setting

If you prefer that materials do not export at $0 sell price when linked to quoted jobs, you can update your settings in Burdi.

  1. Go to Settings in your Burdi account.

  2. Navigate to ServiceM8 Settings.

  3. Locate the option: “Export Material to Quoted Job at $0 sell price.”

  4. Untick this checkbox to disable the feature.

Once disabled, Burdi will export the materials to ServiceM8 with their normal sell price, even if the job category is set to “Quoted.”
