How Does Burdi Calculate Eligible Bonus?

 How Burdi Calculates bonus

Bonuses in Burdi are designed to motivate staff while keeping your jobs profitable. Bonuses are taken from the job’s Contingency, and they are always a percentage of that figure.

Setting a Contingency

You can set the job's contingency using the Burdi button and choosing the Contingency Charge option:

Setting the Percentage of Contingency as Bonus

Burdi uses the contingency as the pool for bonus payments. Within your Burdi ServiceM8 Add-on settings, you can decide what percentage of the contingency becomes a bonus.

  • Example: If the contingency is $30 and the bonus percentage is set to 50%, the eligible bonus is $15

Burdi Calculates Automatically

Burdi automatically deducts the eligible bonus from the contingency for that job. This way, bonuses are pre-planned and never eat into your GP. you can view your Eligible Bonus Amount via the Bonus Calculator:

Why This Works

Controlled — bonuses are limited to the contingency you’ve set.
Flexible — both contingency and bonus % can be changed in SM8 settings.
Aligned with profit — bonuses are always calculated from a pre-allocated pool, not from profit margins.

✅ With Burdi, you can reward staff fairly while protecting your bottom line. By linking bonuses directly to contingency, you gain clarity, control, and consistency across every job.
