How to Set Up a Jetter in Burdi and ServiceM8

1. 🎯 Create the Jetter as a Service in Burdi

First, set up the jetter as a billable service line item in Burdi.

  • Service Code: JETTER

  • Name: Jetter Hire (Labour)

  • Cost Price: The internal hourly cost (e.g. $120)

  • Sell Price: What you charge the client (e.g. $220)

2. 📦 Add the Jetter to Bundles

Add the Jetter service to your Burdi Bundle. Use bundles to automatically include the jetter whenever relevant jobs are quoted or created.

Giving the service the name “Jetter Hire (Labour)” ensures that it will be picked up in your Burdi Report.

3. đź•’ If using Recorded labour (Check-in), add the Jetter to Time Entries in ServiceM8

In ServiceM8, treat the jetter like a technician. Create a staff member record called “Jetter Hire” and assign time to it just like you would for a real person.

This means you can:

  • Track how long the jetter was used on a job

  • Include it in labour calculations

4. đź“… If using Scheduled Labour, schedule the Jetter Like a Staff Member

Just like you'd assign John or Barry to a job, you also assign "Jetter Hire". This gives you:

  • Clear visibility on when the jetter is in use

  • Better job planning and availability management

  • Dispatch clarity for field staff

5. 📊 Jetter included in Labour Reporting

Since it’s treated like a team member, the jetter’s cost appears under labour costs in your Burdi job reports.

This keeps:

  • Job costing accurate

  • Labour GP calculations clean

  • Everything visible in a single place (you don’t need a separate asset tracking process)
