How Do I Create a Product Option Bundle?

How Do I Create a Product Option Bundle?

A Product Option Bundle lets you offer the same job with different product ranges โ€” for example, replacing a single gang light switch with a Classic, Slimline or Satin option. This keeps your labour and pricing in sync across all options.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step-by-Step

  1. Go to Sales Management > My Bundles.

  2. Click Create New > Product Option.

  3. Set the action (e.g. Replace existing).

  4. Set the Primary Product description (e.g. single gang light switch).

  5. Add the products that represent each option (Classic, Slimline, Satin etc.) and remove any blank rows.

๐Ÿ“ Assign a Category and Save

  1. Choose the service category (e.g. Switches and Outlets).

  2. Click Save.

  3. In The Burdi Button, open the cog menu and tap Refresh Bundles so the new Bundle appears.

๐Ÿ” Add Search Terms

Search terms help your techs find the Bundle quickly in The Burdi Button. Add common abbreviations and the codes your team already knows from ServiceM8.

  • If the Bundle name uses single, also add 1 and one.

  • Add any internal codes your team uses (e.g. the old ServiceM8 item code).

  • If a product name uses two words, also add the one-word version as a search term so both spellings come up.

โฑ๏ธ Add Primary Product Options

These should be different variations of the primary product.

Everything else you need to do the job

โฑ๏ธ Set Calculated Hours Per Environment

Enter labour as a decimal of an hour. Some quick references:

  • 0.1 = 6 minutes

  • 0.25 = 15 minutes

Set times for every environment you might use โ€” Residential, Commercial, After Hours and VIP โ€” even if you do not use them often. This saves you having to come back and edit the Bundle later when a less common job type comes up.

Tip: Leave the unit of measure blank unless you actually need it (e.g. metres of cable or conduit). For most Bundles it is not required.
